Najat Bahrami, a political analyst, said, referring to the statement by 171 activists and political prisoners in support of Prince Reza Pahlavi, that some of the signatories are still in prison and others, despite being released, are also under pressure from the Islamic Republic.

She said that some of the signatories, despite having republican leanings, have accepted Prince Reza Pahlavi’s leadership in order to move past the Islamic Republic, and that the publication of this statement can help the convergence of forces opposed to the government.
