The executive deputy of the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s government said that no specific decision and a well-defined plan has yet been adopted in the government regarding gasoline, but “for now, it may be decided tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, and it will certainly be done out of respect for the people.”

Mohammadjafar Qa’im-Panah said to reporters in Qom that “what all of the country has to contend with is limited budget and limited financial resources.”

Mohsen Hajimirzaie, the chief of the office of the president, had said in a televised program that what is certain is “the reduction of ration cards and the increase in the price of non-ration gasoline.”

Pezeshkian also said in recent days that “importing gasoline at 130,000 tomans and selling it for 1,500 tomans” is not right.
