Mai Sato, the UN special rapporteur on Iran human rights, asked governments, civil society organizations, victims of human rights violations, their families, and human rights defenders to send their documents and information about cases of human rights violations in Iran, especially from Mehr 1405 onward, so that she can prepare her forthcoming report to the UN Human Rights Council.
Sato said her next report will, in addition to reviewing the general situation of human rights in Iran, focus on the suppression of external opponents of the Islamic Republic, threats and pressure against their families, and efforts to abduct or forcibly return individuals to Iran.
Women’s rights, gender-based discrimination, and the impacts of detention, enforced disappearances, and executions on the families of victims will also be among the topics of this report.
In a call published, Sato announced that the deadline for submitting information is 15 November 2026, which is equal to 24 Aban 1405. This report is being prepared for submission to the sixty-fourth session of the UN Human Rights Council.
