The 41st birthday of Aref Barati was held at his grave in the presence of his family and close relatives. The video released on social media shows that Aref Barati’s sister addressed him, saying: “They turned off the candle of your life, but your ideals did not go out, and you became a lantern for the path to freedom.”

Aref Barati was killed on Dey 18, 1404, during the protests in Khuchekhnar, Fars Province, by suppression officers.
