🔻Strong reaction from several countries to the Houthi attack on Medina
The Houthi attack on a power distribution station in Medina, Saudi Arabia, has been met with a strong reaction from several countries.
Turkey and Pakistan strongly condemned the attack and announced their support for Saudi Arabia.
The United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, the Arab League, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation also strongly condemned the attack on Islamic sites and said that the attack on Medina was an “overt violation” of the sovereignty of Saudi Arabia.
Turkey Maliki, a spokesperson for the coalition led by Saudi Arabia, said that the attack targeted a power distribution station in the city.
In a statement, he said: “Investigations and evidence gathered by the relevant authorities, based on post-operation assessments and the remains of the drone used, have confirmed the involvement of the Houthi terrorist militia in the planning and execution of this terrorist act.”
Mr. Maliki said that in this attack, one of the power transformers was taken offline, but the power grid did not experience disruptions on a wide scale.
According to him, these power facilities supply the Prophet’s Mosque, and he described the incident as “a continuation of the efforts of this extremist militia group to target the two holy mosques.”
