🔻Student protests in France have led to the closure of hundreds of schools, and the country’s education minister says that 40 school principals have been injured during these disturbances.
Students are protesting a lack of teachers, overcrowded classes, intensive study schedules, and the deterioration of school buildings. University students in some cities have also joined these protests.
The protests, which began in the Paris region, have spread to different cities across France in recent days, and in some places have resulted in clashes with police and damage in schools.
Édouard Geffray, France’s education minister, said that since the start of these protests, 65 school staff members, including 40 school principals, and about 170 students have been injured. According to France’s Ministry of the Interior, only on Thursday 1,949 people were detained.
