🔸Social Security pensioners held protest gatherings again in various cities across Iran on Sunday, 12 Mehr.
🔸Economic hardship, a decline in purchasing power, economic conditions, and lack of attention to pensioners’ demands were the main focuses of their protests.
🔸In Kermanshah, pensioners chanted: “Neither war do we want, nor slaughter; we want lasting welfare” and “War is an excuse for negotiation; our lives are the sign.”
🔸Protesters in Ahvaz called for the release of political, civil, and trade union activists.
🔸In Shush as well, “Injustice and oppression are enough; our table is empty” was among the main slogans of the protesting pensioners.
🔸The latest figures from Iran’s Statistical Center show that annual inflation in Shahrivar reached 73.6 percent, and point-to-point inflation has risen to nearly 90 percent.
