Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman said the events of the past weeks have been serious, and that Saudi Arabia’s response should also be “as serious.”

He described the rapid repair of the east-to-west pipeline as evidence of the scope of preventive measures and said energy security cannot be considered a resolved matter. He added that ensuring the energy sector’s reliability requires continuing operations under any conditions.

The remarks came as attacks by Yemen’s Houthis on Saudi Arabia increased, leaving more than 15 deaths in two weeks.
