Sadegh Baghdali, a jurist and political activist, says that continuing the blockade and preserving the possibility of the return of sanctions are tools used by the administration of Donald Trump to pressure the Islamic Republic into accepting an agreement.

According to him, the dispute between factions within the government is not over the principle of negotiations, but over how the agreement will be reached and each group’s share of power and Iran’s economic resources after it.
