🔺Russia’s attack on Ukraine’s energy network caused a blackout in Kyiv
▪Russia on Wednesday, the 8th of Mehr, carried out a wide-ranging attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure that, according to Kyiv officials, was one of the most severe attacks in recent months.
▪Reuters reported that in these attacks, carried out with drones and missiles, at least seven people were killed and power facilities in Kyiv and several other areas were damaged.
▪Ukraine’s prime minister wrote about the attacks: “Since the summer, there is almost not a day when our energy infrastructure is not targeted. But a combined attack of this scale has not happened so far.”
▪The operator of Ukraine’s power grid also announced that for the first time since spring, emergency power outages have been imposed in the capital and surrounding areas.
