🔺Baghdad sets a deadline to disarm non-Iraqi militias

▪ The prime minister of Iraq, referring to the end of the mission of American forces in this country, said that non-Iraqi militias present in Iraq’s territory must be disarmed at the latest by the 9th of Tir (next year).

▪ Ali Zaidi announced the 1st of October (9th of Mehr) as the date for the serious start of the process for addressing weapons beyond government control.

▪ He emphasized that decisions about war and peace must be handled by Iraq’s legal institutions and rejected any military action outside this framework.

▪ The prime minister of Iraq said that Baghdad will not allow the territory or airspace of the country to be used for actions that threaten the security of neighboring countries.
