🔶 Rubio called for greater cooperation among G20 member countries to tackle crises

Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, at the start of the G20 foreign ministers meeting in Atlanta called for greater cooperation among member countries to address economic and geopolitical crises.

On Friday, October 30 (8 Aban), Rubio warned that current crises threaten global trade, energy and food supply, as well as freedom of navigation.

He said: “The G20 should work together to address these threats.”

The U.S. foreign minister stressed that the challenges the Trump administration has faced are complex and interconnected, and that solutions to them must match that complexity.

However, at the beginning of the meeting there was little sign of increased cooperation.

Amid continued differences over the war in Russia against Ukraine, it was decided that a conventional group photo of the foreign ministers would not be held so that a joint image of European ministers alongside Sergei Lavrov, Russia’s foreign minister, would not be published.
