🔺Reuters: After the attacks, the US government asked SpaceX to activate Starlink in Iran

▪ After the attacks by the United States and Israel on the Islamic Republic, the US government asked SpaceX to activate the Starlink service in Iran.

▪ Citing a former senior official of the Trump administration and a person familiar with the matter, Reuters wrote that the Trump administration hoped that activating Starlink would strengthen access to the internet and communications for protesters.

▪ Discussions about delivering and activating Starlink terminals in Iran took place after the attacks in 2025 and again after the outbreak of the war.

▪ Neither the Trump administration nor SpaceX has publicly confirmed that the terminals were turned on. In the early months of the war, The Wall Street Journal wrote that the US government sent thousands of Starlink terminals to Iran.
