This morning, a very serious security incident occurred on a flight from Dubai to Israel. Almost all the passengers were Israeli when the aircraft was approaching Israel: one of the pilots attacked the other pilot with a knife and, apparently, intended to cause the plane to crash. An Israeli passenger told me that he, along with one of the crew members, managed to enter the cockpit and restrain the attacking pilot, who was trying to sabotage the aircraft’s systems. In the end, a replacement flight crew succeeded in taking control of the plane. I salute the heroes of this flight, who showed their composure and courage. I have also instructed the security authorities to prepare to deal with any other potential threats.
