🔸 Pete Hegseth, the U.S. defense minister, on Sunday 12 Mordad said the country’s forces are still on standby and ready to take action; remarks that indicate that Donald Trump’s decision, the U.S. president, to delay an attack on Iran has had no impact on military readiness.

🔸 Hegseth wrote on the social media platform X, alongside posting a video of the U.S. president, saying: “The Department of War was ready to act and is still prepared at a level that has not been seen since World War II.” Hegseth then said that the army is “fully armed and ready to fire.”

🔸 His remarks came after Trump told reporters that the planned attack on Iran would be “the largest attack since World War II.”

🔸 Donald Trump later said that negotiations with Iran would begin on Monday afternoon 12 Mordad. Trump made these remarks upon returning from Bedminster in the state of New Jersey.

🔸 Trump was also asked whether Tehran faces a deadline in order to reach an agreement.

🔸 He replied: “No. We’ll just see; we’ll see how things go.” Trump added: “Whenever we want, we’re ready to take action.”
