Pedro Sánchez, Prime Minister of Spain, says the war against Iran has so far cost more than 100 billion euros for Europeans, and its economic burden is weighing heavily on ordinary people.

He wrote in a post on the X social network, sharing a video message: “Those of us (Europeans) who raised our voices against the war were right to say ‘no’ to the war.”

According to him, “we knew that, in the end, the bill for this affair would be paid by ordinary people.”

On Friday, Mr. Sánchez said at a press conference after a meeting of the European Council in Brussels that the validity of the opponents of the war has been proven—not only from the standpoint of international law and respect for human rights, but also because of the economic and social consequences that our citizens are again experiencing.

He said: “In the end, it is ordinary people who pay for it, and unfortunately, its effects are already being felt.”
