🔻Wang Yi, China’s foreign minister, called on Israel to end “imposed” settlement activities in the occupied West Bank and to cancel the measures carried out in this regard.

China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that on Thursday, 23 Mehr, Wang met with Isaac Herzog, the President of Israel, on the sidelines of a meeting in the Republic of Azerbaijan, and described the Palestinian issue as “the greatest historical injustice of the present century.”

China has long supported the Palestinian cause and believes that the solution of establishing two independent states of Israel and Palestine is the right way to resolve this dispute.

Beijing has also tried to play a mediating role in Middle East disputes.

In 2023, China, through mediation between Iran and Saudi Arabia, helped pave the way for the resumption of diplomatic relations between the two countries after years of tension and hostility.

Earlier this year, China also participated, along with Pakistan, in efforts to establish a ceasefire in the war between the United States and Israel with Iran.

China’s efforts to help end the Gaza war have also largely focused on creating unity among Palestinian groups.
