🔻 Iran Rejects Accusations of Tehran’s Involvement in Houthi Attacks on Saudi Arabia

Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday rejected Saudi Arabia’s allegation that Tehran was involved in the Houthi attacks on that country, and proposed mediation between the parties.

Ismail Baqaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement that rejected any claims regarding Iran’s role in the Houthi operations, once again emphasized Tehran’s readiness to act as a bridge between the Houthis and Riyadh.

Mr. Baqaei said that Iran has “always been ready to help put an end to hostilities,” and still has readiness to “use all of its capacities, if requested by the parties, toward this end.”

In recent weeks, the Houthis have repeatedly attacked targets in Saudi Arabia, including attacks on vessels in the Red Sea, oil facilities, and the international airport in Riyadh. In one of these attacks last week, 13 people were killed.

A coalition led by Saudi Arabia has also carried out extensive attacks against the Houthis.
