“The Peace Committee” and the mediating countries, including Egypt, Qatar, Turkey and the United States, today announced with pleasure that Hamas has agreed to a detailed roadmap for implementing the next steps of the Gaza ceasefire.
This agreement is the result of months of intensive negotiations, driven in good faith to advance President Donald J. Trump’s vision for creating a new governance structure, security, humanitarian aid, reconstruction and economic revival in Gaza; a vision outlined in the “Comprehensive Peace Plan” and United Nations Security Council resolution 2803.
This roadmap is considered a historic achievement. For the first time, Hamas has officially committed to a practical plan for transferring all of its weapons; an action that will then be followed by the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.
This agreement offers hope for the delivery of significant benefits for the people of Gaza—people who have long been waiting for a better future—and will also bring security to the people of Israel.
Our focus now is on implementing this agreement. “The Peace Committee” has worked closely with the “National Committee for the Administration of Gaza” (NCAG). This committee will soon begin a phased process for the full transfer of powers; a process that will be accompanied by the support of the “International Stabilization Force” (ISF) and will accelerate the implementation of the rule of law, security, and improvements to humanitarian conditions in Gaza.
