Breaking: Trump says a deal has been reached for the complete disarmament of Hamas and armed groups in Gaza.

Today, the Peace Council reached a historic agreement under which Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza must completely lay down their weapons. This is a major step toward achieving long-term peace and security.

The aim of this agreement is that, eventually, a new Palestinian government will take over the administration of Gaza; a government that will cooperate with the Peace Council to help the people of Gaza.

Meanwhile, Israel will also have greater security, because under this plan Gaza should no longer be a place from which attacks on Israel can be carried out.

This agreement is expected to be implemented step by step:

First, the armed groups will be disarmed.

Then Israeli forces will gradually withdraw from Gaza.

Next, an international force, together with a new Palestinian police force, will be responsible for maintaining security in Gaza.

A year ago, there was a fierce war; people faced a humanitarian crisis and hostages were held in difficult conditions. We reached historic progress, but there is still a lot of work to be done.

He thanked Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey for their mediating role and said his team worked hard to reach this agreement.

The threat that emerged from Gaza on October 7 will not be allowed to regain power.
