🔻Pakistan says it is still trying to bring the United States and Iran back to the framework of the agreement

Pakistan says it is still working to bring Iran and the United States back to the negotiating table within the framework of the Islamabad agreement.

Taher Andarabi, the spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told reporters today: “We will do our utmost to bring all parties back to the Islamabad agreement.”

According to him, Pakistan has encouraged these countries to “fully comply with their commitments to hold technical talks” under this agreement.

Following the reciprocal attacks, the United States and Iran announced that they had set aside that interim agreement.

The Islamabad agreement, which was signed on 28 Khordad (18 June) with the mediation of Pakistan by the presidents of Iran and the United States, was intended to provide the groundwork for negotiations for a permanent peace deal between the two countries. However, about three weeks ago, after attacks on the ships, the re-closure of the Strait of Hormuz, and the resumption of Iran’s naval blockade, the exchange of fire between Iran and the United States was resumed once again.
