Marine traffic tracking company Kpler also said that the incident disrupted operations at one of the most important liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminals. It is still unclear who was responsible for the attack. The event came shortly after Iran carried out a missile attack against U.S. forces in Jordan, and the United States and Saudi Arabia also targeted Iran-backed militia groups in Iraq. On Wednesday, the British maritime security company Ambrey said that, based on an initial assessment, a drone had struck a gas storage tanker belonging to an American company at Egypt’s Damietta port.
