🔻North Korea fires a ballistic missile

South Korea and Japan said that North Korea fired a ballistic missile toward its eastern coastal waters on Saturday.

This is the latest missile launch by the country this year.

South Korea’s military said in a statement that the missile was launched at around 6:30 a.m. local time on Saturday from the Wonsan area and traveled a distance of more than 700 kilometers.

The statement also said that Seoul and Washington are reviewing the details of the test.

Earlier, South Korea had accused this country of having injured its troops due to explosions from North Korean landmines. A charge that North Korea rejected the day before.
