🔶Najaf Airport resumes flights to Iran

The Iraqi International Airport in Najaf announced that flights to and from Iran will resume starting Sunday.

On Saturday, the Iraqi state news agency reported, citing the airport, that to begin operations, three evening flights are scheduled.

On Friday, October 2 (October 10 in the Persian calendar), Iraq announced that, under a U.S. waiver, Iranian airlines would be allowed to operate up to 40 flights per day to Najaf and from Najaf.

This exemption does not include Mahan Air.

On Tuesday, September 29 (Seven Mehr), the Iraqi Ministry of Transport had announced that Iraq Airways is preparing to resume flights to Iran in October after flights were halted due to U.S. sanctions.
