Mostafa Nili, the lawyer of Benjamin Nakdi, told Etedad news agency that the death sentence for his client, for the charge of “setting fire to a fire extinguisher canister toward Law Enforcement Force officers” during the protests of Dey, has been upheld by the Supreme Court.

This young protester had previously been sentenced to death by Branch One of the Revolutionary Court in Shiraz on the charge of corruption on earth.

Nili said that the Supreme Court, by rejecting the appeal against the death sentence of Benjamin Nakdi, upheld the ruling of the Shiraz court.

The attorney for the court of justice said he had heard of efforts by the lawyers to request a retrial.
