Morteza Kazemian, a member of the Iran International editorial board, said the Islamic Republic’s officials’ emphasis on dealing with opponents and the warning about “civil war” shows that the government is worried about new protests.
According to him, with the intensification of economic pressure and widespread social discontent, the government is again preparing mosques and local bases to suppress protesters.
