Mohammad Jafar Qaimpanah, the executive deputy of Masoud Pezeshkian, said on Wednesday, 4th of Shahrivar, regarding energy carriers, that producing gasoline is not enough and that the Islamic Republic cannot import gasoline with a U.S. naval blockade.

Meydad Maleki, the former head of the Iran Department's sanctions targeting office at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, previously told Iran International that, following the naval blockade, Iran’s economy would face the greatest pressure in the short term from the side of imports, and in this context, gasoline imports would be the most vulnerable sector.

Qaimpanah also said: “Gasoline distribution is not fair and action should be taken to correct it, and continuing this course is impossible.”

The executive deputy of Pezeshkian added: “Someone who has several cars uses subsidies, and people who do not have cars are not benefiting from this issue.”
