🔻Mike Johnson: We will take back the House with more effort

Mike Johnson, the Republican speaker of the House of Representatives, said to his supporters in Louisiana: “Republicans won’t be discouraged by the outcome of an election. In fact, you know what we’re going to do? We’re going to redouble our efforts.”

He added that in the 2028 election, Republicans “will take back the House of Representatives.”

He announced this morning that he will not run for the position of “minority leader” in the House. Mr. Johnson has served as speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives for three years; in October 2023, after a contentious selection process within the Republican Party, he replaced Kevin McCarthy.
