Mehdi Kheratiyan, a government-linked political analyst, said China told officials of the Islamic Republic that cooperating with the government of Iran carries risks and that it prefers these cooperation efforts be carried out behind the scenes.

He also added that the sending of Chinese satellite images to the Islamic Republic for an attack on a U.S. destroyer was stopped after the media exposed the matter.
