🔻Kazem Gharibabadi, deputy foreign minister, said on Tuesday that Iran has proposed a temporary plan for reopening the Strait of Hormuz with Oman.

He told Iranian television that under this plan a transit route would pass through Iranian waters and part of the route in front of the other would be the same.

Gharibabadi added: Tehran has rejected Oman’s proposal to evenly divide the transit routes between the two countries, because until stable regional stability is achieved, such a plan does not address Tehran’s security concerns.

He said that if Oman rejects Iran’s proposal, the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed, and emphasized that Tehran has never recognized the southern route along Oman’s coasts.
