Johann Waddevoll, Germany’s foreign minister, said most members of the G20 want the Islamic Republic to return to the negotiating table.

According to the German Foreign Ministry, Waddevoll told reporters on the sidelines of the G20 foreign ministers meeting in Atlanta that most members of the group share Berlin’s position on the need for the Islamic Republic to return to negotiations.

He added that the Houthis must stop their attacks and that Russia must also end its attacks in the Black Sea; attacks, he said, that are pushing global food security toward collapse.

Waddevoll said all countries benefit from free trade and global connections and are harmed by crises. He added that differences of view among countries regarding conflicts in the world do not change the fact that crises prevent economic growth.

The German foreign minister said members of the group in Atlanta are discussing these crises and ways to bring the global economy back on the path of growth. According to him, with a share of about 85% of the world’s economic output, the group is a suitable place for these consultations.
