He was one of the best-known figures in contemporary Iranian literature and art, who worked in various fields including literature, visual arts, journalism, and art criticism.

In his final years, Javad Mojabi was also active, and in 1405, when he was hospitalized at Iranmehr Hospital, he put on display a series of paintings titled “White Nights of the Hospital and Me.”

Several novels were published by him, including Night of the Locusts, City of Lights, Mummy, and Downward-Going Violets, as well as several works in the field of humor titled: Obeid Returns, Iranian Smile, States Are Not in the World, and an important research work called The History of Literary Humor in Iran.

Javad Mojabi has two recognition essays about Ahmad Shamlu and Gholamhossein Saedi, and in the field of painting he compiled the History of Modern Iranian Painting.

Javad Mojabi was born in 1318 in Qazvin and began his literary and artistic activities in the 1340s.

According to the family’s announcement, no other ceremony will be held after the burial, and his home will be open for seven days to friends, members of the culture and arts community, and his admirers. 📷ISNA
