🔻Jalal Maleki, Tehran Fire Department spokesperson, said the kebab shop fire on Tehran’s Valiasr (Dolat) Street had no injuries.

The IRIB news agency also reported the end of the fire department’s operations and wrote that firefighters “rescued 4 people who were trapped inside the building.”

A morning explosion on Saturday, September 28, in a building at the intersection of Nashat Street on Valiasr (Dolat) Street created a tall column of black smoke. At the same time, reports of hearing a “sound of an explosion” in northern Tehran had been shared on social media.

Mr. Maleki said the storeroof at the back of this restaurant was full of food items, dishes, and gas cylinders, which “caught fire.”

“The incident site was a two-story building where, on the ground floor, there was a supermarket, a food establishment, and similar units, and on the rooftop, two storerooms had been created. The total area of these storerooms was about 400 square meters, and large quantities of oil, food items, gas cylinders, and other items were kept there, which had caught fire.”
