The Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army, Eyal Zamir, today, Wednesday, visited southern Lebanon along with a group of commanders of the army. In this meeting, he said: “In our confrontation with Iran, we have achieved very important gains, and if necessary, we also have the ability to expand these gains.”

Referring to the Israeli army’s advance into Hezbollah deployment areas in Lebanon, Eyal Zamir said, “If necessary, we will deepen the operation and reach more areas.”

He, while appreciating the forces operating in the region, emphasized: “In all fronts where there is a direct threat against Israeli settlements and citizens, we are established in forward defensive positions, deep inside enemy territory. The Israel Defense Forces is responsible for security and will not withdraw from the areas it has captured as long as long-term security is not guaranteed.”
