Israel’s army announced that Jamal Mahmoud Abu Kamil, a Hamas commander who, according to the army, participated in the October 7 attack on Israeli soil, was killed in an airstrike on Thursday in the city of Gaza.
The Israeli army says the operation was carried out under the guidance of Israel’s internal security agency, Shin Bet, and that Abu Kamil played a role during the war and also in recent months in designing attacks against the Israeli army and Israeli citizens.
