The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), in a statement, claimed that in the early hours of Thursday, the eighth of Mordad, two oil tankers that, with the support of the United States, had intended to leave the route south of the Strait of Hormuz, after a severe fire occurred on one of them, quickly returned backward.

The IRGC did not announce the names of the oil tankers or the reason for the fire on one of them.

The IRGC, in a further statement, threatened the countries of the region and claimed that “countries that interfere in helping the aggressor, if they do not correct their behavior, will receive a harsh response.” The IRGC also, by claiming U.S. involvement in the region, stated that the Strait of Hormuz cannot be reopened under current conditions.

In the early hours of Thursday, the eighth of Mordad, CENTCOM, in response to the arson by the Islamic Republic and attacks on regional countries and vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, struck dozens of military targets associated with the IRGC.
