🔻Iranian Majlis National Security Commission secretary: The Strait of Hormuz must remain closed
Behnam Saeedi, the secretary of the Iranian Majlis National Security Commission, said that the Strait of Hormuz must remain closed because “countries that thought they could make decisions without regard to Iran’s role in regional security and energy are today facing a different reality.”
Saeedi also said: “The Strait of Hormuz has today become one of the most important variables in the global oil market, and the continuation of these conditions can transfer its effects from the energy market to inflation, production, and the economic growth of countries.
Iran is not seeking to create insecurity for the energy market, but it will not allow Iran’s security and interests to be ignored. The path to reducing pressure on the global market runs through accepting the realities of the region and respecting Iran’s positions.”
