The first trial of three Iranians accused of cooperating with the Iranian government in the UK was held today.

At this hearing, the three defendants were present behind glass in the courtroom, and their defense lawyers were also present. According to documents presented by the court, all three have agreed that they collected information about individuals who were targeted by Iran’s security institutions. Two of these defendants said they were not aware of what purpose the information was being collected for.

However, the third person says that under pressure and threats from Iran’s security institutions, he cooperated with the other two from inside Iran and was in contact with Iran’s intelligence apparatus.

These three people are accused of collecting information about journalists and opponents of the Iranian government in the UK.
