🔻 Iranian independent filmmaker Mohsen Amir-Yousefi was summoned to Tehran’s Ministry of Culture prosecutor’s office a few days before the world premiere of his new film, “The Cursed Seizure,” at the London Film Festival.
According to a report, Mr. Amir-Yousefi, on Mehr 7, went to the Office of the Tehran Prosecutor’s Office for the Ministry of Culture after a call from the Ministry of Intelligence to security staff.
So far, no details have been released about the outcome of this summons or any possible case being filed against him.
“The Cursed Seizure” is the latest work by Mohsen Amir-Yousefi, made without an official permit, and has entered the official section of the 70th London Film Festival.
The festival has described the film as a comedy with unconventional humor and “a cinematic exploration of Iranian society.”
Based on information released about the film, part of its narrative deals with events from Dey 1404.
Amir-Yousefi serves as director, writer, and producer of “The Cursed Seizure.”
After 17 years, he is returning to international film festivals with this film.
The 70th London Film Festival will be held from October 7 to 18.
