⚡US President Donald Trump said on Thursday, Mehr 9, that, based on information he has received, the co-pilot of a Flydubai flight who is accused of attempting to crash a plane heading to Israel is likely connected to the Islamic Republic, but he emphasized that investigations are still ongoing.
In response to a reporter’s question about whether he has been given an explanation regarding the individual’s connection to the Iranian regime, Trump said: “Based on what I hear, I can say the answer is yes, but we are working on it right now.”
Flydubai flight number 1073 left Dubai for Tel Aviv on Wednesday, during which the co-pilot attacked the pilot and the aircraft lost altitude by about 14,000 feet in less than 30 seconds. Passengers and crew restrained the attacker, and the plane landed in Saudi Arabia.
UAE officials have begun investigating the motive behind the incident and the possibility of a link to terrorist activities or prior planning. Israeli officials have also said that investigations into the motive and the likelihood of the person behind the incident being connected to the Islamic Republic
