‌🔻Foreign currency prices in Iran’s free market rose again today, and the dollar, continuing its upward trend, moved close to the 260,000-toman mark.

According to websites that report the spot exchange rate of currencies and gold, the prices of other foreign currencies have also increased. Each euro, up by about four thousand tomans compared to Wednesday, was traded in the range of 290,000 tomans.

The continued rise in currency prices comes as Iran’s central bank on Wednesday had announced “planning to supply two billion dollars in banknotes” to the market.

The central bank said the process of selling this currency has started and that, in the first phase, one billion dollars will be supplied through selected branches of banks and banking exchanges across the country.

The value of Iran’s national currency has declined further in recent weeks, coinciding with the start of the economic pressure plan by the United States known as “economic removal operations,” and with the continuation of Iran’s naval blockade. 📷ISNA
