🔸Iranian government officials, while announcing progress in Iran and Oman talks about determining the route of ships in the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, 17 Mordad, presented new and broad conditions for opening this waterway.

🔸Mohammad-Bagher Zulqadr, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said on Saturday that as long as the United States, according to him, does not “correct its behavior,” the Strait of Hormuz will not be opened, adding that this council “will not back down from this position, whether in war or in negotiations.”

🔸He proposed six conditions for reopening the Strait, including an end to the war and U.S. attacks on Iran and the Islamic Republic’s allies in Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen, and Iraq, lifting a maritime blockade, the withdrawal of U.S. military forces from around Iran, full payment of war damages, the lifting of sanctions, and the release of Iran’s blocked assets. Zulqadr also called for an end to U.S. threats against Iran.

🔸Hours earlier, the spokesperson of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had announced that reopening the Strait of Hormuz has essentially “nothing to do with Iran-Oman negotiations” and would only be carried out if the United States fully accepts Iran’s “conditions.”
