🔸Iran’s Army Claims It Shot Down a U.S. Drone in the Skies over Bandar Abbas

Tasnīm News Agency, close to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported on Sunday, 3 Aban, citing the public relations of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army, that a U.S. drone of the “Locas” type was “hit” in the skies over Bandar Abbas and was “destroyed.” The Iranian Army claimed that the drone was targeted by the Air Defense Force systems of the Army.

Reuters, citing Tasnīm, has also reported the drone’s being shot down, but so far no independent evidence has been published to confirm the claim by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army. The U.S. Army, the U.S. Department of Defense, and CENTCOM have not confirmed the claim either.

In recent months, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army have repeatedly claimed the downing of U.S. drones, but they have not released independent and verifiable details in this regard.

The “Locas” drone is from the family of one-way attack drones, whose main design is based on reverse engineering of the Iranian drone “Shahed 136.”
