Information recently obtained by Iran International indicates that during the crackdown on the national uprising in Semnan province, government officials set up snipers and armed officers in religious sites, including the Friday prayer leader’s office, as well as in student centers—including student dormitories—and also at IRIB (Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting) to fire on protesting people.
Mahsen Mehaymani, a member of the editorial team of Iran International, discusses the protests and the crackdown on the national uprising in Semnan province in “The Geography of the National Uprising.”
