🔶 Indictment filed against 13 people in Lebanon in Hezbollah explosives shipment case

Lebanese military judicial authorities on Friday, October 30 (8 Aban), filed charges against 13 people in connection with a truck carrying explosives belonging to the terrorist group Hezbollah. The shipment was seized earlier this month by Lebanese security forces.

According to a report by Lebanon’s official news agency, two of the accused were arrested during the seizure of the cargo and are still in custody. The other 11 accused are at large and have been tried in absentia.

The real identities of five of the defendants have not yet been determined, and they have only been identified by aliases.

Claude Ghanem, a prosecutor’s representative at the Lebanese military court, filed the charges against these individuals.

The charges include “actions against the country’s internal security, illegal possession of weapons and explosives, and forming illegal groups with the aim of undermining the authority of the state.”

Earlier in October, the truck carrying the explosives was stopped at a checkpoint on the main route between Beirut and the Beqaa Valley.
