🔶 More than three thousand Palestinians have been displaced from their homes in Hebron

Israel’s military operation in Hebron (al-Khalil) in the West Bank has, so far, displaced more than three thousand Palestinians. The Hebron municipality said that among the displaced people there are many children and elderly people.

The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that humanitarian aid from other parts of the West Bank has been sent to the displaced people within the territory.

The Israel Defense Forces described the operation as a response to an armed attack by two Palestinians on Israeli soldiers on last Friday.

Two soldiers were killed in the attack. The army’s retaliatory operation in the area is expected to continue for several days.

Hebron is one of the most sensitive cities in the West Bank. Around 200,000 Palestinians live in the city.

In the center of the old city, hundreds of Israeli settlers reside, and the Israeli army provides them protection. This situation has made Hebron one of the permanent centers of tension.

After the attack on October 7, 2023, and the start of Israel’s attacks on Gaza, violence in the West Bank has also increased sharply.
