🔻Hossein Hosseinzadeh, chairman of the board of directors of the Persian Gulf Holding, owner of Esteghlal club, said in an Instagram post that the holding intends to sell Esteghlal and has held talks with several economic firms and wealthy Esteghlal fans who are active in business abroad.
🔹Hosseinzadeh wrote: “Discussions with several reputable economic entities as well as some wealthy Esteghlal fans who carry out economic activities abroad have been conducted to enter the process of purchasing the club, and this could be one of the most important paths ahead of Esteghlal to reach economic and managerial stability.”
🔹Hosseinzadeh also wrote: “Naturally, realizing this would require the approval and cooperation of the relevant authorities and senior managers, but if this process yields results, one can be very hopeful about Esteghlal’s future.”
🔹The chairman of the Persian Gulf Holding’s board has announced the possibility of selling Esteghlal while, previously, the governing and security institutions of the Islamic Republic have shown that they have no intention for the real privatization of Esteghlal and Persepolis, and only hand these two clubs over to holding companies and semi-governmental banks.
