Hosein Taeb, head of the Basij Organization, referring to Masoud Pezeshkian’s remarks at the United Nations that said, “Either security for everyone or for no one,” said: “It’s not that we say we surrender; no, we stand firm. Just as the nation has stood for these past half century, we stand firm and united.”
Taeb said: “The Strait of Hormuz has been closed. Every day, 102 million barrels of oil are consumed in the world, of which 20 million barrels must pass through the Strait of Hormuz; that means that 20% of the world’s oil consumption is supplied through this strait every day.”
He added: “The Americans bring all of their reserves into the market and do everything they can to open the strait. Each night they force and push several ships through, and use their strategic reserves so that the price of oil, gasoline, and diesel does not go up.”
