🔻Hemati: Annual liquidity growth has decreased

Abdolnaser Hemati, governor of the Central Bank of Iran, said that annual liquidity growth in Mehr decreased by 0.7 percentage points compared to Shahrivar, reaching 50.9%.

Liquidity includes cash and bank deposits, and its rapid increase—especially when not accompanied by growth in production—can fuel higher prices for goods and services and reduce people’s purchasing power.

A decline in annual growth does not mean that the liquidity volume has decreased; rather, it indicates that the amount is increasing compared to last year at a slower pace.

According to Mr. Hemati, liquidity has increased by a total of 24% in the first seven months of the Iranian year 1405, and its growth was only 2.7% in Mehr.

However, the Central Bank’s announced figures show that monthly liquidity growth rose from 1.3% in Shahrivar to 2.7% in Mehr and more than doubled.
