🔻Following flooding in Iran’s West Azerbaijan province, two people have died in Salmas.

Hamid Mahboubi, the managing director of the Red Crescent Society of West Azerbaijan, said that as a result of the flood in Salmas, in addition to the two deaths, «6 people have been injured and 2 others are also missing.»

Heavy and consecutive rainfall in the counties of Maku and Salmas has contributed to this situation.

Mahboubi said: «These rains have caused flooding and waterlogging in several rural areas, and as a result, all branches of the Red Crescent Society in the province have been placed on standby.»

The greatest damage from the flood has been reported in the village of Kaniyan in Salmas County.

According to Mahboubi, in this village, «a 10-year-old girl and a 63-year-old man died due to the flood, and 2 others were also injured.»

This flood has caused waterlogging and damage to residential homes in rural areas.
